With the new eastern city renovation and extension of the capital of Norway, the city of Oslo was aspiring to set a cultural highlight with a new “Northern Europe Concert Hall” as a multi-functional performance space with 3 halls. Built into the harbor, this cultural complex was to anchor the extensive pier promenade and allow indoor and outdoor performances. The Korn architects design (in collaboration with BB design) of a carved-out “shard” earned high appreciation. The final contract went to local architecture studio: “Snøhetta”
